"This is Zak.
This is his story:
So came to spend the day with me, and we decided to go up to DeYoung Zoo. On the way there, we were counting roadkill because we're taxidermy lovers, and that's a normal event XD. Speeding down the highway, we caught a glimpse of something canine and we turned around to investigate.

After pulling over, we realized it was a coyote pup, probably around six months of age. He was fairly small and still had his puppy teeth. You could see the tips of his adult teeth coming through his gums already. After checking him out a bit, we determined he was hit by a vehicle in the face, shattering his skull and, hopefully, killing him instantly. The blood on him was still a bit wet, and it was a chilly day, so he hadn't started to bloat. On the way home from our zoo visit, we decided to take him home. It's better for him to be turned into taxidermy, where he can be loved and respected for years to come than rot on the side of a road. This is what he looked like when we found him: [link] he now looks like a brand new yote!

When we got home, we gave him a flea and tick bath to get rid of any that he might have gotten, and we were sure to scrub the maggot eggs from his fur. After his bath, he looked good as new, and I began to skin him out. These pictures are how I posed him after his bath.

Six hours and fifteen minutes later, I have Zak in my freezer, hopefully to be tanned and mounted soon ^ ^ It was my first canine and I'm really proud of him "
